How you'll contribute

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who excels in this role:

  • This position requires knowledge of the Med/Surg/Peds Department and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Prioritizes and organizes delivery of patient care under the supervision and delegation of an RN; accepting a variety of assignments and consult with other disciplines as appropriate.
  • Assists in staff development activities. 
  • Orients, instructs and trains others, emphasizing departmental, as well as interdepartmental cooperation and teamwork. 
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate sensitivity to patient's comfort and privacy and expresses interest in their progress and aids patients and families as needed in times of stress or crisis.
  • Under the direction of an RN, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN. 
  • Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care. 
  • May administer medication as directed by the Physician and RN. Documents patient care given.
  • Assists RN with development of plan of care. Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families. Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What we're looking for

  • Nevada State LPN License Required
  • Graduate of a Program in Discipline 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6-months of hire.
